DelRay (Montreal / Canada)

Since 1996, artist Matthew Biederman (DelRay), has exhibited and performed his video projection installations and screening works in plays, musical performances, film festivals and exhibition installations exploring themes of "cut-up" electronic image delivery, media saturation and data systems Biederman was the recipient of the Bay Area Artist Award in Video by New Langton Arts in 1999 and served as artist-in-residence at the Center for Experimental Television.

In 2000, he was invited to create a site-specific installation for the Break21 Festival in Slovenia where he won First Place in the Visual Arts category. Among various other venues, his films have been included in the Hi/Lo Film Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Paris/Berlin International Meetings, and the Chicago Underground Film Festival. He has collaborated with Projekt Atol and the rx:tx crew in several of the Signal-Sever! performance series events, among others at this years Futuresonic! festival in Manchester, Nuit Blanche and ISEA 2004.

He is a regular VJ guest at the Betalounge, Club Six and the Rx and Luggagestore galleries in San Francisco. Currently, he set up his artistic operation in exile in Montreal, Canada.
